I'm an independent documentary photographer and photojournalist working and living in Arizona. I was born in Huddersfield, U.K. and was raised in Zionsville, Indiana before receiving my B.A. in Journalism at Indiana University in Bloomington. In 2013 I studied Korean Language at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea, where I met (and first photographed) friends from North Korea and discovered how different their reality was from what I had presumed. In 2015 I went back to Seoul to work with young North Korean women to document their experience building a new life in South Korea. While saving up to go back to Seoul, I've been working on stories about migration closer to home. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, my focus has been on women's access to safe migration at the U.S.-Mexico border, although this issue is pervasive around the globe. I hope that by working with migrants to share their stories, a wider audience can empathize with the labyrinth of challenges surrounding global migration.
